Launa Lea teaches writing classes at Aurora Commons. Aurora Commons is a place where strangers become friends, where societal norms are challenged and vulnerability is welcomed. As their website explains:
The Aurora Commons provides a safe space of hospitality to share relationships, resources, and the fullness of life. We seek to provide a space for authenticity and conversation, to connect our unhoused, unstably housed, drug dependent, individuals involved in street-based sex work, and low-income neighbors to resources, and to bring the wider community to the table to learn from one another, to be transformed by one another, and to embrace one another.
Listen to Launa Lea’s story of compassion and truth when faced with a knife. We all can learn from her clarity about violence and vulnerability.
